Precision Fiber Optic Winding Machine for Center Payout: Introducing the ED-100, ED-120 & ED-150 Series
Discover ED-100/120/150 fiber winding machines. Perfect for UAV center payout spools, featuring 400m/min speeds, closed-loop tension, and zero-microbending protection.

Discover our advanced integrated pay-off and take-up fiber winding machines (ED-100, ED-120, ED-150). Engineered for UAV center payout spools, featuring closed-loop tension control, inline adhesive dispensing, and zero-microbending protection.
The demand for high-performance optical fibers in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), underwater ROVs, and precision guided systems is growing exponentially. In these specialized applications, the fiber optic spool must perform flawlessly. The most critical manufacturing challenge is internal winding (center payout), where the fiber is pulled directly from the core of a stationary spool at extremely high speeds without tangling or signal degradation.
To meet the stringent demands of aerospace, defense, and specialized cable manufacturers, we are proud to introduce our ED-100, ED-120, ED-150 Integrated Pay-off and Take-up Machines. Designed as the ultimate solution for both internal and external fiber winding, this equipment guarantees precision, high speed, and absolute fiber protection.
Dual Winding Capabilities with Inline Dispensing
The ED-100 ED-120 ED-150 are highly versatile platforms. It fully supports both standard external winding and the highly complex internal winding (center payout).
To streamline the production of coreless center-payout spools, the machine is equipped with a specialized inline adhesive dispensing unit. This allows for the simultaneous winding and bonding of the fiber optic cable (0.1 mm – 1.5 mm diameter), creating a perfectly structured, self-supporting spool ready for immediate deployment.
High-Speed Operation & Ultimate Stability
Speed and consistency are the backbone of efficient manufacturing. This series achieves a maximum linear winding speed of 400 m/min.
To handle this extreme velocity without compromising the delicate fiber, the machine features an advanced secondary wire feeding device. This mechanism acts as a buffer and stabilizer, ensuring smooth, continuous wire delivery even at top speeds, completely eliminating the erratic jerking motions that cause micro-bending or breakage.
Ultra-Precise Closed-Loop Tension Control
Tension control is the heartbeat of a fiber winding machine. The ED-100, ED-120, and ED-150 utilize a sophisticated closed-loop dynamic tension system:
Mechanism: Tension is regulated by a precision dancer arm combined with a movable pulley block system.
Real-Time Feedback: The dancer arm provides continuous position feedback, which is converted into an analog voltage input to the motor driver.
Pinpoint Accuracy: The tension adjustment range is exceptionally wide (0.02 N to 0.3 N). The 0-10V control voltage corresponds precisely to a tension force of 20 to 300 gf.
Unmatched Stability: During high-speed operation, the system automatically adjusts the motor speed to keep tension fluctuations strictly within an error margin of ±0.1V.
Zero-Damage Fiber Protection System
Optical fibers are incredibly fragile. Any scratch or severe bend will increase optical attenuation (signal loss) and compromise the end-user's mission. This series guarantees zero physical and optical damage through a three-tier protection system:
Anti-Scratch Coating Protection: The entire wire routing path utilizes polished ceramic and specialized fiber optic guide pulleys. With absolutely no sharp metal edges or burrs, the fiber coating is protected from micro-friction and abrasion.
Minimum Bending Radius Enforcement: All guide wheels are specifically oversized to strictly enforce the fiber’s minimum bending radius. Limit guides on the traverse unit ensure that every directional change is gradual, completely eliminating dead angles, kinks, and micro-bending loss.
Instant Breakage Detection: If a wire break occurs, the automated detection system instantly triggers an emergency stop. This prevents empty winding, reduces the production of defective spools, and drastically cuts raw material waste.
Plug-and-Play Power Efficiency
Despite its industrial-grade performance, this series is highly adaptable to standard factory setups:
Power Supply: Operates seamlessly on standard Single-Phase AC 220V / 50Hz/60HZ power. Voltage supply variations do not affect the machine’s speed or tension accuracy.
Maximum Power: 3000 W.
Current Specifications: The ED-100 operates at a maximum current of 11.5 A, while the slightly larger ED-120 runs at 17.5 A.
